Default GH "Give-away" storage box

It'd be really cool and helpful if you had like a storage in your GH where you could put weapon ugrades/materials/dyes etc. that other guildies could get.

If you have some stuff lying around that you don't need and cba selling it, you could put it there and some other ppl might find a use for it.

And well to prevent one person from taking ALL the items, you could restrict it, so that you're only able to get one item per 12 hours or something.

Cheers to one of my guildies for thinking this up

We were supposed to have guild storage, but I think the idea was scrapped, since we obviously don't have it today. O.o

or make it act as a factions trafter where you have to input the account name to the npc in which the item will go to, ie.

1 Vial of Black Dye
Deposited by Your Account Name Here
Given to Account Name B

where Account Name B is the guy you want to give the vial of dye to

To Shizno's idea: why wouldn't you just give the item to your guildie...surely that's not so large a problem as to ask the programmers to devote time to something like this.

To the OP: even with the 12 hour delay thing, I can see this as just being abused by people who guild jump, grab the most expensive thing in the box, stick around if there's something else they might want in 12 hours, and then leave and do it again when the guild's dried up. If you have something you want to give away, just say in guild/alliance chat "Anyone want this?", it'll get picked up eventually (unless your guild is dead, in which case it's not likely that a storage box would help matters).

I can think of 2 solutions to this problem:
1) You can have a required amount of time spent in the guild , for example you would have to be a member for 1 month to gain access to give-away storage.
2) You could just make it illegal (EULA), include a log in the storage that says who took what items. So if you see someone that joined guild and left 2 mins after: /report

Allow Guild Leader to permit/deny access to Guild Storage.

Just announcing it in Guild chat isnt always a good way of giving it. You might be playing at a time of day that most other guildies arent on. Those handful of guildies that are on might not need what you are giving away but the others that havent logged on yet may have a use for it.

A time limit on how long youve been in the guild is a good idea before taking from the box. Also a 12 hour or whatever limit would also be nice.

Its a good idea. Its better then just spamming "anybody want <blank>" in guild/alliance chat. Of course, this could be exploited (somebody in a guild by himself could effectively just use this to expand his storage) and it would require additional server storage space by a.net, but it would be still be nice. I'm not holding my breath though. Its been suggested before and doesn't look like its going to happen.

one of our guildies still needs many unlocks and i would like to help him... giving him all my unidentified items and runes. but he's rarely on at the same time, so some way of guild storage or "delayed trade" would help.

but since it's usually few persons who need support by many the 12h limit would only have a negative effect.

making it so the guild leader can toggle the "first use" and "reuse" limit would help. or even allow him to set the time on them.

if it's possible to have the storage without the 12h limit then...

As long as it has a log like the guild members 'join/leave' log, it should be fine...

James Phinney said it would be in game shortly after Factions release, as a Guild Hall buyable NPC named the Vault Keeper. Yes, he actually said that. Surprise, we don't have it and Nightfall has come and gone.

lol, yea sure i would love this, and to solve the people jacking stuff and leaveing you can make it kinda like bid able, if someone wants something from the thing then they request it using a button. then the person who put it in receives a pm that asks if they want to allow. if they click yes then the requester gets a pm that says they have been allowed to get it and they go pick it up.

and if you dont want to do this just have an option for "Free Trade" that just allows anyone to grab anything.
